Privacy policy

I may change my Privacy Policy from time to time, so please check this page occasionally to ensure that you’re happy with any changes.

Cookies

Sustainably Lazy is an ethical lifestyle blog. It collects browsing information on your IP address, what pages are accessed and when. This is done via cookies. Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer or mobile phone when you browse websites - almost all websites use them. They improve the speed of the site and allow it to work as you’d expect.

Cookies also allow you to share pages on social media and make marketing more efficient. Using them keeps my content free of charge.

If the settings on your software that you are using to view this website (your browser) are adjusted to accept cookies I take this, and your continued use of our website, to mean that you are fine with this.

You can usually switch cookies off by adjusting your browser settings to stop it from accepting cookies. Doing so, however, will likely limit the functionality of my website (and a large proportion of the world's) as cookies are a standard part of most modern websites.

It may be that your concerns around cookies relate to so-called "spyware". Rather than switching off cookies in your browser, you may find that anti-spyware software achieves the same objective by automatically deleting cookies considered to be invasive.

There is no way to prevent these cookies from being set other than to not use my site.

Sustainably Lazy does not collect cookies to collect sensitive information without your permission. Or to pass personally identifiable data to third parties

Sustainably Lazy uses the following Third-Party Service Providers:

Google Analytics

Our website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. to help me analyse how visitors use the website. It also sends 3rd party requests without cookies.

The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website (including your IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity to be looked at by Sustainably Lazy, and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage.

Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google's behalf. Google will not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google.

There is a Google Analytics opt-out extension for your browser here - https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout/.

Using analytics helps me create content that users want to read. It tells me how many readers I have, their age and gender, and how they came to be on my website. This is so I can understand who my audience is.

Google Adsense

This website uses Google Adsense, a web advertising service of Google Inc., to support the running costs of the website. Google Adsense may use technology such as cookies and web beacons when they advertise on this site which will also send them information like your IP address, your ISP, and the browser you used to visit this site. This is generally used for geotargeting purposes (like showing ads relevant to your location) or showing ads based on specific sites visited (such as showing a makeup ad to someone who likes beauty products).

You can change your browser settings if you do not want to accept cookies by going to Tools > internet options > privacy > settings. Please note that this website will not function as well without cookies.

By using this website, you agree to the processing of data about you by Google in the manner described.

This privacy policy applies only to our website‚ so we encourage you to read the privacy statements on the other websites you visit.
